About Me
Hi, I'm Susan Flanders, founder of Cove Counselling Gold Coast.
I am a Registered Counsellor and Board Certified Neurofeedback Practitioner passionate about supporting individuals and families to improve emotional well-being, strengthen self-regulation, and create meaningful change in their lives.
I work with children, adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, stress, emotional overwhelm, difficulties with attention and executive functioning, and challenges associated with navigating everyday life. My approach is collaborative, compassionate and tailored to the unique needs of each person I work with.
I believe that emotional well-being is influenced by the complex interaction between our thoughts, emotions, experiences, relationships and nervous system functioning. For this reason, I integrate evidence-informed counselling approaches with neurofeedback to support both psychological and physiological aspects of wellbeing.
As a Board Certified practitioner through the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance (BCIA), I have undertaken specialised training in neurofeedback practice and remain committed to ongoing professional development, supervision and ethical practice.
Having children with neurodiversity myself, I have a special interest in working with neurodivergent individuals and families, including autism and ADHD. I strive to provide affirming support that respects each person's unique way of experiencing and engaging with the world.
My goal is to provide a warm, supportive environment where clients feel safe to explore their experiences, build practical skills, and move towards the life they wish to create.
I understand that seeking support takes courage. Wherever you are in your journey, I look forward to working alongside you.
